Manny Pacquiao has been dubbed as the greatest fighter of his time. His combination of strength, speed, endurance, and intelligent boxing has led him to a 15 win streak. His last fight against Juan Manuel Marquez ended with controversy, and a controversial fight brings up a lot of possibilities.
-Marquez might quit boxing-
This, surely, has been crossing Marquez’s mind ever since he lost to Pacquaio last 2008. Marquez has been considered as the Pacman’s closest rival. Floyd Mayweather, who is another contender for the pound for pound king title has been reluctant to fight Manny, and if “Pretty Boy” wouldn’t fight Pacquiao, Juan Manuel Marquez will still be the closest thing we, the fans, can have for a mega fight.
The reason why Marquez might quit is that maybe he’s just fed up of losing to Pacquiao, and considering his age (38 years), clearly, he is past his prime. But don’t fret, 10 million dollars can change a boxer’s mind, and fans would surely want to watch another clashing of JMM and MP.
-Floyd Mayweather Jr. is the Pound for Pound King-
Everybody’s thinking it and it may be true. Due to the almost impossible win against Marquez, Pacquiao has lost his god-like boxing powers (at least it looked like it). Plus, boxing style plays heavily on matches. As the fight went on, JMM showed the whole world that MP wasn’t a god, he was a mere mortal whose punches can be countered, and Mayweather has counter punching down to a science.
Floyd beats Marquez, Marquez almost beats Pacquaio, and does that mean Floyd would easily beat Pacquiao? Not necessarily. The Pacman has his strengths, he is one unbelievable fighter and I’m pretty damn sure Freddie Roach would think of other ways on how to beat Floyd, but as of now, the cards are drawn, Floyd Mayweather Jr. is holding a pair of aces.

The only good thing that I could get out of what happened was the Mega fight between Floyd and Manny is materializing bit by bit. I don’t know if The Money is scared of The Pacman or he really is paranoid about steroids, but after the fight, it was a big confidence booster on Floyd’s part, the Mega Fight is getting nearer, cross your fingers!
